The Town of Lincoln Town Hall is open Monday through Friday to assist residents with questions, payments, permits, forms, and other Town services.

Town Board Meetings
The Town of Lincoln Board meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM at the Town Hall.
Residents are welcome to attend Town Board meetings. Meeting agendas and notices are posted in accordance with Wisconsin open meeting requirements.
Annual Town Meeting
The Town of Lincoln Annual Town Meeting is held on the third Tuesday in April at the Town Hall.
Residents are encouraged to attend and participate in this annual meeting.
Where do I get a fire number?
If you need to obtain a NEW fire number, you can apply through the Vilas County Uniform Addressing System using the online application link provided on our website. If the residence is located on a Town of Lincoln road, you may need to obtain a driveway permit number from the Town before applying for your fire number.

How do I register to vote?
Wisconsin residents can register to vote online through MyVote Wisconsin or register in person through their municipal clerk. Before registering, you can use MyVote Wisconsin to check whether you are already registered.

When registering, you will need to provide proof of residence showing your name and current Wisconsin residential address. A current Wisconsin driver license or Wisconsin ID with your current address can qualify as proof of residence.

Where can I dispose of garbage?
The Town of Lincoln does not operate its own garbage disposal site. Residents may use the Town of Lincoln Recycling Center, located at 208 Jack Frost Street in Eagle River, for household garbage and recycling. The center accepts household trash, recycling, cardboard, and a variety of other materials for disposal. Fees may apply to certain items.
Residents who prefer curbside garbage and recycling service may contact a local garbage hauler directly to arrange service.

How do I dispose of brush?
The Town of Lincoln offers a Brush Disposal Program to help residents properly dispose of yard waste and brush. Eligible Town of Lincoln residents may obtain a voucher for up to $15 toward the cost of disposal at:

Saturday 7:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Sunday: CLOSED
The program is for residential use only, with a maximum of two vouchers per household per year. Accepted materials include brush, limbs, grass clippings, leaves, pine needles, and small logs. Stumps and treated wood are not accepted under the program. Any disposal cost over the $15 voucher amount must be paid directly to the landfill by cash or check.
Vouchers must be obtained from the Town of Lincoln before taking materials to the landfill. Vouchers are available at the Town Office during regular office hours, Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
How do I rent the Town Hall?
The Town of Lincoln Town Hall is available to rent for meetings, gatherings, celebrations, and other community events.
The Town Hall is located at 1205 Sundstein Road, Eagle River, WI 54521.
To reserve the Town Hall, please review the Town Hall Rental Agreement, complete the required information, and submit it to the Town of Lincoln office. Rental fees and applicable rules are outlined in the agreement. For availability or questions about renting the facility, please contact the Town Office at 715-479-7000 during regular office hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Do I need a driveway permit?
A Driveway Permit is required for any new driveway connecting to a Town of Lincoln road. A driveway permit is not required for driveways located on private roads.
If your driveway connects to a Vilas County or State highway, different permitting requirements may apply, so please contact the appropriate highway authority for information.

How do I apply for a bartender license?
To obtain an Operator (Bartender) License, complete the Operator (Bartender) License Application and return it to the Town of Lincoln office along with the $30 application fee. Applications are reviewed and approved or denied at the Town Board’s monthly meetings, held on the second Tuesday of each month.

Where can I find my property tax information?
Property owners can access their property tax and assessment information online through the Vilas County Land Records system. The online portal allows you to view information about your property, print tax receipts, review payment history, and make necessary address changes.

What do I need to operate a short-term rental?
If you plan to rent your home, cabin, or other residential dwelling for fewer than 30 consecutive days, there are several steps that must be completed before your first rental. The Town of Lincoln requires short-term rental owners to comply with Vilas County, State of Wisconsin, and Town of Lincoln requirements.
You will need to:

Obtain an annual Tourist Rooming House (Short-Term Rental) permit from the Vilas County Zoning & Planning Department.

Contact the Vilas County Health Department to schedule a home visit. Once approved, you will receive a Tourist Rooming House License.

Register with the Wisconsin Department of Revenue for a seller's permit to remit applicable state and county sales taxes, unless your rental management company collects and remits those taxes on your behalf.

Register with the Town of Lincoln and submit the Town's Short-Term Rental Application.

Comply with the Town of Lincoln's Room Tax Ordinance and collect the required 4.5% room tax, which is remitted to the Town Treasurer quarterly using the Accommodations Tax Form.

Be aware that the Town also has an ordinance authorizing fire inspections of Tourist Rooming Houses and Short-Term Rentals.
