Fire Number Applications & Sign Replacement
Fire numbers are an important part of the Town of Lincoln’s addressing system and help emergency responders quickly identify properties.
If you need to obtain a new fire number, please use the link below to complete the application through the Vilas County Uniform Addressing System. A $100 fire number fee is required and must be paid to the Town of Lincoln.
If your residence is located on a Town road, you may also need to obtain a Driveway Permit Number from the Town of Lincoln before completing the fire number application. Information and the Driveway Permit Application can be found under the Driveway Permits section of our website.

Fire Number Sign Replacement
The Town of Lincoln is in the process of replacing fire number signs. Existing single-faced signs will be upgraded to double-faced signs to comply with the County’s Uniform Addressing System Ordinance. These new signs will improve visibility from both directions, enhancing emergency response and public safety.
Due to the volume of signs being replaced, this will be a multi-year project. There are approximately 2,280 fire numbers in the Town, and completing this project will require significant time and resources. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work through this process.
